Inspiring Synergy: CERIT Team Supported by IUS Goes to FGC2023 in Singapore

A team of talented roboticists, comprising of high school students Ana Tomić, Amina Đuderija, Ilajda Šuta, Amar Pehilj and Kenan Nuhić and mentored by IUS Adjunct Instructor Mr. Sc. Anes Hadžiomerović, Armin Đidelija and Lejla Nuhić, spent a very productive day at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. This team will proudly present Bosnia and Herzegovina at the upcoming Olympics-style international robotics competition FIRST Global Challenge 2023 (FGC2023) in October in Singapore.

The day they spent at the University was dedicated to improving the robot they have been carefully developing for the competition during the summer break. Expertise and experience of two prominent IUS professors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tarik Namas and Senior Assistant Ammar Hodža provided valuable support and guidelines to the students helping them enhance the quality of their robot to the next level.

The high school students had an amazing opportunity to work in well-equipped laboratories with CNC machines, laser and plasma cutters, 3D printers and other state-of-the-art equipment. They also benefited from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) laboratory, as well as the Physics Lab where protype testing is conducted. This rich and advanced infrastructure enabled the team members to turn their creative ideas into reality and bring their robots to a level of excellence.

This was an unforgettable visit for all CERIT team members. Working side by side with the University experts represents an exceptional opportunity to learn and exchange information. The team members enjoyed the creative process and improvement of their robots while establishing connections with the experts who share the same passion to science and robotics.

This hard work with the professors will certainly contribute to the success of the team at the FIRST Global Challenge 2023 competition in Singapore. Their dedication, hard work and innovative minds are a bright example that young talents can achieve extraordinary results with the right cooperation and support.
